ELIZABETH LEE MYERS
Liz Myers moved to Italy in 2009 after having lived and worked in Washington, DC for twenty-five years. Making the leap across the Atlantic, she now resides in San Severino Marche, a lovely medieval town in central Italy near the Adriatic coast.
Liz graduated from the University of Richmond with a B.A. in French and Economics and afterwards worked for Verizon in advertising, PR and online marketing communications.
In the U.S. she managed campaigns to create brand identity both online and in traditional media, and sell high-speed Internet access and fiber-optic television service for Verizon. Her career evolved from large-scale direct mail and print work to radio and television advertising, PR and sales support for high-end business sales, and finally to online branding and marketing in the telecom sector.
Liz began her translation work while still in Washington. She created Italian-to-English materials and the first English internet site for Poltrona Frau, an exclusive producer of leather furniture and accessories. After relocating to Italy, she expanded her translation work, with clients ranging from Italian tourism to luxury apparel, design, gastronomy and market research. She obtained her TEFL certification and has taught both public school programs and private lessons. Most recently she joined the American Translators Association and is focusing on her specialized fields.
